Conference 'Energy and health'
With 2015 as the date set by the International Community to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, many advances are yet to come to fruition. In this context, health plays a key role. On the other hand, an effective health system cannot be understood without energy access.
The GRECDH, a research group at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), participates in the project Energy For All 2030, which aims to promote political and social involvement in sub- Saharan Africa energy access in a time when is more urgent than ever require Governments the fulfillment of the promises made to achieve the MDGs. Although the energy access is not included, in particular, as one of the Millennium Development Goals, is considered to be implicit in all of them, especially in those related to health.
Workshop Objectives
- Discuss the relationship between access to health care and energy in rural areas of sub-Saharan Africa and their interdependence.
- Share international experiences, case studies and lessons learned from both areas.
- Dissemination within the UPC Community.

Aunqueel accesoenergético nofigura comouno de losObjetivosdel Milenio,seconsidera que estáimplícitoen todosellos,especialmente en aquellosrelacionadosconla salud.
La Jornadasedividirá entres partes:

2.Se trataránexperienciasconcretasimpulsadaspor universidades,ONG ytambiénempresas.
