We are glad to announce the result of the “2nd European award for best practices for the integration of Sustainable Human Development (SHD) into technology & engineering education” in the framework of the project Global Dimension in Engineering Education - GDEE.
The Committee, integrated by experts from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Loughborough University, Università degli Studi di Trento, ONGAWA, Practical Action, Engineers without borders and Training Centre for International Cooperation, has decided to award with a price of €3000 the next proposals:

- Sustainable Human Development – Tackling Interdisciplinary Early: Transforming Technical Expertise into Global Citizenship. Elizabeth Hauke, Imperial College London, UK.
- Strengthening The Education Capabilities of University of Makeni. Luis Perea Moreno, Unimak, Sierra Leone.
- Incorporating Sustainable Wool Processing using Engineering Solutions into the Academic Curriculum. Michael Fernando, Amanda Langdown and Valeria Ruiz Vargas, Manchester Metropolitan University.
- A global perspective. Environmental Sustainability and Cooperation Workshop in southern Morocco. Mª Eugenia Moya, Universidad de Alcalá, Spain.
- Real-world Water and Sanitation MSc Thesis Research with Cranfield University. Alison Parker, Cranfield University, UK.
- ECOLOGY: A Game-experiment to Approximate Engineer Students to Sustainable Human Development and the Limits to Growth Concepts. Carlos de Castro Carranza, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain.
The awards ceremony will be held in Barcelona (Spain), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech, next Friday, January 23rd, from 11.30 to 13.30.
