ISST is part of the organizing committee of the 28th IAPS Conference: “Enacting Transdisciplinar Knowledge: People, Places, Movements and Sustainabilities” from the 2nd to the 5th of July 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.
We are delighted to inform you that the 28th IAPS Conference will be held from the 2nd to the 5th July 2024 in Barcelona, Spain. This edition is entitled “Enacting Transdisciplinar Knowledge: People, Places, Movements and Sustainabilities”.
People's relationships with the environment are complex and constantly changing, and require a multidisciplinary approach. Challenges like the transition to more sustainable living spaces, the change to different energy sources, the reduction of consumption, the promotion of circular economies and the approach to the climate crisis present new challenges for society, and especially for the scientific community, both in terms of creation of new technologies and human behavior management.
] In order to achieve a change, it is essential to examine phenomena from different angles, with different disciplinary perspectives, theoretical and methodological approaches, in order to reach solutions to issues of social and environmental importance and, ultimately, to work towards well-being of people and society as a whole. As ecology points out at the beginning of the 20th century, any action to be sustainable must be "different" and adapted to each ecosystem, that is, to each social or eco-social context.
