ISST participates in the Blau 3005 program of the UPC with an inclusive course on Climate Emergency

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) presents 'Blau 3005,' a new educational initiative open to everyone, with an emphasis on small format learning modules.

These courses are designed for people of all ages and backgrounds, offering a unique opportunity to understand the world around us. With the experience of the UPC, the program covers the current subjects without the need for specific degrees, using practical teaching methods.

Blau 3005 is a proactive outreach project of the UPC, which invites all people interested in continuous learning and community engagement. It aims to facilitate learning purely for the joy of knowledge held once a week in person. The inclusive approach of the programme encourages participation without previous qualifications, fostering a practical and experiential learning environment.

Focused on emerging issues, ISST has designed one of the initial modules of the program that addresses the urgent topic of the climate emergency. It includes site visits to Can Batlló, Eix Besos and Parc agrari del Baix Llobregat, providing real knowledge about the application of the concepts teached in the first class.

The objectives of the program include presenting the climate emergency from a systemic perspective, analyzing the global and local causes and effects and showing transformative experiences of people and institutions that lead sustainability initiatives.

Our Blau 3005 learning capsule “The climate emergency. What are we doing? From scientific knowledge to local initiatives” is designed for all people interested in climate change, offering the opportunity to understand their impacts and learn action measures for a more sustainable future. The module includes 12 face-to-face hours spread over a month, and starts on May 7, 2024.

Open to the public, enrolment for these short format courses is already in progress
