Professor Eva Vidal joins the Institute

The ISST is pleased to announce the affiliation of Professor Eva Vidal to the Institute. Eva Vidal is mother of two children and has a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the UPC.

Associate professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the UPC (http://www.eel.upc.edu/ ), she currently teaches classes at the Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB http://www.etsetb.upc.edu/ ), at the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB https://www.fib.upc.edu/ ) and at the University Research Institute for Sustainability Science and Technology (IS.UPC  https://is.upc.edu/ca ). Her main teaching is centered around analog and communications electronics and sustainability in the ICT area. She is responsible for the fact that in all project subjects in ETSETB degrees and masters, students have to submit a sustainability report. Likewise, she is the coordinating professor of the ethics subject in the Bachelor of Science and Data Engineering and the ICT elective in the sustainability master (among other subjects).

Belongs to the research group BCN-SEER (Barcelona Science and Engineering Education Research Group https://bcn-seer.upc.edu/en). With her colleagues she reflects, investigates and publishes on issues related to sustainability competence in the area of Information Technology and Communications (TIC) (https://futur.upc.edu/EvaMariaVidalLopez )

She has been director of the Center for Development Cooperation (CCD http://www.upc.edu/ccd/  ) and strong promoter of the NGO AUCOOP (https://aucoop.upc.edu/ca) made up of students, PAS and PDI from the UPC. She has been part of the board of directors of the NGO AFNE (http://afne.org/) and NASCO (https://nascoict.org/ca/who work for children in Ethiopia and Ghana, respectively, and she collaborate with various NGOs and entities such as Doctors Without Borders, Architecture Without Borders and Doctors of the World. From the UPC she has coordinated projects with African universities and has directed various cooperation projects in the ICT area.
