First edition of the new Blended Intensive Programme: Transdisciplinarity Methods for Dealing with Sustainability and Land Use Conflicts
The Institute of Sustainability of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (ISST-UPC), in collaboration with the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) of TU Berlin, the Department of Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Engineering (SEED) of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the center INGENIO of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), organizes the new Blended Intensive Program (BIP) for the year 2025, aimed especially at master's and doctoral students in STEAM, environmental sciences, social sciences and other disciplines related to sustainability and land use conflicts.
This BIP arises from the experience of the three previous editions of the Summer School, held by TU Berlin and the ISST, and incorporates the collaboration of the KTH and the UPV, providing new topics and perspectives that will enrich the program. The course, focused on transdisciplinary methods, offers online sessions in May 2025, followed by face-to-face sessions from 22 to 27 June in Brandenburg, Germany, to apply knowledge in a real and collaborative context in response to real sustainability challenges.
Participating students will be able to develop transdisciplinary research projects that will include tools for to design and plan long-term participatory scenarios and governance approaches, apply creative co-creation techniques such as photovoice and collaborative narrative, as well as evaluate the impact of research in a practical case in Brandenburg. Those enrolled will receive 3 ECTS and will have the option of applying for a scholarship Erasmus+ to cover part of the participation expenses.
