Jun 11, 2025

Today, an interdisciplinary group linked to the Institute for Sustainability of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) met to prepare for its participation in the June Climate Meeting of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will be held from June 16 to 26, 2025 in Bonn, Germany.

The group is made up of students and alumni of the Master’s Degree in Science and Technology of Sustainability, doctoral students from the Doctoral Programme in Sustainability, and researchers from the Group on Governance of Climate Change (GGCC) from our research group CITES. This meeting served to share knowledge, coordinate joint proposals, and establish an active participation strategy for the conference.

The Bonn meeting, known as the SB Conference (Subsidiary Bodies: SB 62), is a technical preparatory session for the COP 30, which will be held in Brazil in November 2025. At this conference, representatives from governments, scientific institutions, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders discuss technical, political, and governance issues related to global climate action.

The event is organized by the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and aims to prepare the decisions that will be made at the upcoming COP. More information is available on the official UNFCCC website:
